Project: IKEA Distribution Center, Brossard
The IKEA Brossard Distribution Center is a giant complex that stores all IKEA goods to be distributed in Quebec. The first phase of the project involved installing a hydronic backbone throughout the center. Energy was provided by a 400 kW electric boiler, and two 80 kW brick thermal accumulators for off-peak operation.
The second phase consisted of installing efficient lighting, motion sensors and using daylight harvesting in open office areas.
During the third phase, we installed a 150 Ton geothermal system with vertical ground loops and a displacement ventilation system for the warehouse and office section.
Savings of 43% have been measured to date and over 600 tons of harmful CO2 emissions will be removed from the atmosphere annually!
